As with all of the 4 individual 'town sections' on this site, above is a Menu of selected types of businesses and services. The intention of our original Guide booklet was to tempt visitors to the region by gathering together a list of places to eat, drink, stock up on pudding noir, and get your hair done (though you'd have a task to find someone to do the latter in this sailors' stomping-ground).*

To get a whiff of the true, inherent 'tang' of this thriving village-on-sea community, have a look at what the late, great Colin James has to say on the above YouTube clip. He'll put you right!
*Please note: Businesses can change or may come and go, and attempts to keep these listings fully up-to-date are like taking anxious grabs at a wet bar of soap. We have tried to provide up-to-date information and contact details for all businesses and services listed and, being human, errors may have crept in. Should this be the case, please inform us immediately and we will make corrections as soon as humanly possible. For other types of business that we do not cover, attempts at bribery may be proffered for your inclusion on this site, but why not do the decent thing and take out an ad instead? The 'thumbs-up' symbol shows restaurants, bars, etc, that the Guide team have visited and enjoyed. We are certainly not even close to having used or visited every business listed on this site, hence this is not a rating that can be used 'across the board'.
